2010 North American Demand Response Characteristics Available for Download
May 17, 2010 - The IRC has released the 2010 update of the North American Wholesale Electricity Demand Response 2010 Comparison. This updated document contains summary information for wholesale electricity demand response programs, products, and services administered by the ISOs and RTOs in North America.
Last year, information was supplied for 47 products and services associated with 40 different performance evaluation models. This year's updated comparison covers 64 products and services (11 of which have proposed terminations in 2010) associated with 36 performance evaluation models – nearly 4,000 individual compared elements.
Several new data elements were added, primarily related to the emerging Requirement Specifications for Wholesale Standard DR Signals being developed under the guidance of the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). Many of these new fields are found under Market Participant Roles and Communications Technologies & System References.
IRC members have been and continue to be active participants in the development of Business Practice Standards for the Measurement and Verification (M&V) of Wholesale Electricity Demand Response, initially developed using the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) subcommittee process and ratified by the NAESB membership on March 16, 2009.
