Demand Response Characteristics Available For Download

April 28, 2009 - During 2007 and 2008, members of the ISO/RTO Council led the development of business practices for the measurement and verification of wholesale electricity demand response. The business practices were developed and submitted through the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB) subcommittee process, approved by the NAESB Wholesale Electric Quadrant Executive Committee on February 10, 2009, and ratified by the NAESB members on March 16, 2009.  NAESB members may download the standards.

In addition to participating in the development of the business practices, IRC members have mapped all current demand response product and service characteristics to these standards. The analysis provides examples of how the standards may be implemented and the transparency of existing demand response programs and services.

Download the North American Wholesale Electricity Demand Response Program Comparison document, which contains summary information for wholesale electricity demand response programs, products, and services administered by the ISOs and RTOs in North America, and provides a high-level overview of more in-depth rules and procedures.
